Hawaii Welcomes Back Visitors

Gov. David Ige has opened Hawaii back up for fully vaccinated domestic travelers starting on Nov 1st. “open to vaccinated residents and visitors who are traveling domestically and between islands for business or pleasure, starting Nov 1st”

Also as of Nov 12th, there will be no more restriction for outdoor dining, including facemasks and social distancing.

Larger weddings up to 150 people and organized races up to 500 runners are now allowed as well.

No Outdoor Dining Restrictions

As of Nov 12th, there will be no more restriction for outdoor dining, including facemasks and social distancing, per Gov Ige.

And while indoor dining will still require facemasks for seating, restaurants, bars, gyms and entertainment establishments can now seat up to 100% capacity for Oahu and Maui. oahu-restaurants.html


Oahu December Events

Oahu Events have started returning as visitors have this summer.

Farmers Markets were the first to return as they were deemed essential, but now some other social events are returning including Bishop Museum After Hours, Art After Dark at the Modern Museum of Art, Wildest Show at the Honolulu Zoo, Yoga in the Park, Holiday events and others.

Koko Crater Steps are Repaired

Volunteers have worked months to fixed the disrepair of many railroad ties that are now used to climb Koko Head.

Final repairs have been made to help make this trail safer and more enjoyable to hike. Note that this climb is still steep and treacherous.

Know your limits, ability, and endurance before attempting the climb... there have been countless rescues from injuries on this Oahu trail. koko-crater-trail.html


Laniakea Beach Parking Closes

City organizers are working with the department of transportation to study the impact of traffic that is has been congested over the years in this area of the North Shore.

Visitors who park across the road, tend to block traffic while crossing to view the sea turtles that rest on this Oahu beach.

Traffic barrier have been set up to block off parking in this area as studies are conducted.

Pearl Harbor 80th Ceremony

Pearl Harbor National Memorial will be offering the public seats to view the livestream of the December 7th.

The in-person Pearl Harbor Commemoration Main Ceremony will be by lottery, according to the National Park Service.
