Monk Seal Gives Birth in Waikiki

A local monk seal better known as Rocky, has returned to Waikiki and given birth to her pup. Rocky is 20 years old now and has given birth to 14 seal pups over the years. They are currently residing at San Souci Beach near Diamond Head and Kapiolani Park.

A plastic orange netting fence has been set up to give the mother monk seal and her baby pup enough space and privacy.

Unfortunately after multiple incidents of people violating this roped off space, and after a recent violent attack from the mother on a swimmer...a visiting woman swimmer swam in a path where the mother and pup were returning to shore, state authorities decided to increase the protective distance up to 150 feet, and stepped up 24 hour surveillance around the area. No further incidences have happened since.

Swing Removed near Sacred Falls

This popular hike was closed over 20 years ago after a large landslide happened in the area injuring and killing hikers that were in the area. The swing was removed to help discourage illegal hiking to this Oahu waterfall. Hawaii-Waterfalls.html

Discover beautiful Yokohama Bay when you head towards the most west northern tip of Oahu, known to as Ka’ena Pt. Also referred to as Keawaula Beach, this Oahu beach resides in one of the most secluded areas of the island.

Yokohama Bay is pristine, beautiful, and untouched by development for miles around. It is framed by the Waianae Mountain Range in the background. You’ll usually find this Oahu beach empty, with an extensive sandy beach to explore all to yourself. yokohama-bay.html
