Moana Loa Lava on Pause

The Moana Loa eruption on the Big Island has slowed down from delivering over a 100,000 tons of lava per day. This comes as good news as it was on route just over a mile away from destroying the main highway that connects Hilo to the other side of the island.

And while Oahu and the other islands were not in any danger from the proximity from this eruption, it could create hazy skies from VOG that is a combination of volcanic ash and SMOG.

Tis the season with lots of festive events happening around the island.

Make sure to take a look and ongoing seasonal events taking place for the month including the Honolulu Holiday City Lights set up around the downtown area, and Aloha Land set up with lots of holiday spirit and activates at the Aloha Stadium.

Polynesian Cultural Center Holidays

The Polynesian Cultural Center has always been a great entertaining park for the whole family full of activates, shows, culture, and hosting a grand luau at the end.

But there is even more reason to go this time of year as they decorate Hukilau Marketplace, and schedule lots of special holiday activities.

Oahu Holiday Luaus

Many of the Luau outfits on Oahu are very busy this time of year, as visitors folk to Hawaii for the holidays. Hawaii luaus also happen to be one of the most popular activities for visiting tourist. Kahala Mandarin Hotel is Growing

Anyone who has been to the Kahala Mandarin Resort outside of Waikiki, knows just how special this place is. And it's just about to get bigger with an addition of a new hotel tower.

Mana‘olana Partners announced that they are working on a new 37-story project featuring 99 residential condos and 125 hotel units under the Hong Kong-based Mandarin Oriental hotel brand. It will resume this month with preparation of an environmental site assessment followed by construction likely to begin after March and finish in 2025, with a projected cost of about $650 million. oahu-resorts.html
